Bilgrami and Ramzan
Lakhani co-founded Digimax Studio in 2002
and together have guided the company's growth into one of the South Asian entertainment
industry’s leading independent motion picture production and distribution
companies in North America.
Raised in a family whose prominent interests included acting, directing, art
direction, and writing plays, it was a matter of time before Hyder started directing
and producing plays in Hyderabad, India. He was taken under the wings by the
likes of eminent Bengali playwright Padma Vibhushan Badal Sarcar and Khader
Ali Baig and has earned the respect of renowned directors and production houses
including Raj Tilak and national award winner Naga Bharma. Hyder Bilgrami has
been involved in the Bollywood movie industry since 1987. Bilgrami earned his
degree in Commerce from Osmania University.
Ramzan Lakhani migrated
to the US in 1982 to pursue his MBA. He is an ardent lover of movies and has
always had a yearning for stage and theater. As a young adult, he participated
in school plays; stand up comedy and Qawali singing competitions. He was also
part of a group instrumental in promoting U.S. tours of various Asian performing
artists including the Ghazal Maestro Ghulam Ali's debut in 1985.
On October 15th, 2002,
Digimax Studio launched production of its first Hindi film “Bandhak”
in the US. The entire film project, from script development to post production,
was completed in the US. “Bandhak” is scheduled for release in summer
of 2004.
In addition to the release of “Bandhak,” the studio is soon to complete
production of “Junoon” starring Vik Parmar and Shruti Shah and release
it in fall of 2004...
In its 2-year history,
Digimax Studio has earned the respect of independent film production industry
by creating a diverse portfolio of film, music videos, song albums, corporate
commercials and infomercials.
In the years ahead,
Digimax Studio is looking to play a major role in launching and developing the
careers of aspiring filmmakers, scriptwriters, directors, and actors. In May
2004, Digimax Studio formed its “Manoranjan” theater division, which
has the sole objective of providing a platform to the talented individuals to
explore opportunities in film industry and showcase their talents...
